Description

Seeing if there are any Citroen collectors out there. Very rare. Never sold in this country, and only allowed to be imported after 25 years. This may well be one of few or the only one in the USA. Only 1000 West End models were produced (see pics). Very restorable car, can be driven as is. Head gasket was done 2 years ago. Manual transmission. All West End models were all the same color, with sunroof. Rust hole on each side in top of rocker panels, otherwise pretty solid car. One spoke steering...

Our Take:
  • Rarity of the Citroen Visa West End: The Citroen Visa, particularly the West End edition, is a curious piece of automotive history, boasting an eccentric blend of French flair and functional design. With only 1,000 of these models ever produced, finding one in the USA is like spotting a unicorn on Route 66—it's rare and undoubtedly turns heads in any classic car meet.
  • Unique Features: Sporting a sunroof and distinctive one-spoke steering wheel, the West End model was as much about style as it was about economy. The inline slant 4 engine, pushing out 50 hp, may not win drag races, but it’s all about enjoying the journey—imagine weaving through curvy country lanes with that manual transmission, feeling every gear change. And yes, those three lug nuts are a quirk that adds to its character!
  • Historic Charm and Import Status: As the Visa was never officially sold in the USA, this car's mere existence here is a testament to dedication by enthusiasts who navigated import restrictions (hats off to them!). It’s been allowed here thanks to the 25-year import rule, which makes it not just a car but a rolling piece of European motoring ensconced in American tarmac.
  • Restoration Potential: With its "pretty solid" condition and the head gasket recently replaced, it seems like a great candidate for restoration. Sure, there are a couple of rust holes, but think of them as war wounds from its adventurous life across the Atlantic! Enthusiasts can appreciate the character these marks add, while dreaming of restoring this gem to its original Gallic glory.
