Our Take:
  • The 1991 BMW 850i is a grand tourer with a touch of rarity. This model is part of the E31 series, which marked BMW's foray into the luxury coupe market after the iconic 6 Series. The 850i was known for its sleek design and cutting-edge technology at the time—like the pop-up headlights that give it an unmistakably retro charm today.
  • This particular 850i sports the rare "Calypso Red" color. While the car might need a little bit of TLC to get its paint back to showroom quality, Calypso Red is one of those shades that turns heads quicker than a black cat crossing the road. It's a hue that not only stands out but also underscores the car's intriguing blend of elegance and performance.
  • Under the hood, you'll find a robust V12 engine. The M70 V12 was quite the engineering marvel back in the day, delivering smooth power and unmatched refinement. While the current fuel pump issue might sound like a hurdle, enthusiasts often see it as part of the thrill—turning a wrench on a V12 is the stuff of automotive legend.
  • Sporting M-parallel wheels adds a dash of modern flair. These are not your run-of-the-mill rims; M-parallel wheels have a design that's often coveted by BMW aficionados, adding both value and visual appeal. Coupled with the new powder coating finish and fresh front tires, they make this 850i look ready to cruise—once it's up and running, that is.
