Description

Super cool 1967 Saab 95 wagon. Last year for the 3 cylinder, 2 stroke engine, 4 speed transmission, free wheeling. It even has the third seats in the way back making it a 7 seater! I collect unusual cars, mostly older French cars and a friend of mine in Woodland California let me know he had just found this cool car and asked if I wanted him to get it for me, I said yes of course. It cost $3500 at the time. Since I have decided I'm not going to bring the Saab to where I live it is for sale for ...

Our Take:
  • End of an Era: The 1967 Saab 95 marks the final year for the three-cylinder, two-stroke engine—a hallmark of Saab's quirky engineering. This engine was phased out in favor of a more conventional four-stroke, making this model a collectible piece of automotive history. The distinctive sound and mechanical simplicity of the two-stroke engine give this wagon a special charm that sets it apart from its successors.
  • Practical Meets Peculiar: With its unique layout, the Saab 95 was among the few cars of its time to offer a third row of seats, making it a 7-seater wagon. That’s a rarity even today. It's got this fascinating mix of practicality with a dash of Swedish eccentricity—perfect for a family road trip or perhaps just the next Cars & Coffee event?
  • Distinctive Design: The 95's quirky styling is a talking point—those who know, know. Its rugged, boxy shape is softened by subtle curves that add character, and if you're into vintage aesthetics, the patina and weathered paint might just be a badge of honor. Plus, the tail fins and wraparound rear glass were ahead of their time, making it a standout even among classics.
  • California Dreaming: Being a California car, this Saab 95 has likely avoided the dreaded rust issues that plague so many vintage vehicles from harsher climates. While the seller claims it's 98%-99% rust-free, if true, that's like finding gold in the classic car world. Its life in California probably means your road to restoration might be a bit smoother.
