This has been in our inventory for years, and stored indoors, it ran and drove fine prior to 2020, when we put it on our warehouse, it has not run since, the clutch slave is now dead (from sitting), all the chrome and trim are intact. Interior is clean, but needs to be sorted. NO RUST, no damage, body is smooth and clean, just has crappy paint job. good foundation to start with. Sellin...

Our Take:
  • The 1971 Saab 95 is a bit of a hidden gem from the era of quirky Swedish engineering. This model was known for its curious two-door wagon design, making it stand out among the more conventional American and European wagons of the 1970s. You don't see too many of these on the road today—perhaps it’s the allure of its rarity that draws enthusiasts in?
  • Underneath its hood, the Saab 95 of that time was powered by a V4 engine sourced from Ford, which was quite unique for a Swedish carmaker; it offered a blend of robustness and quirky charm. The manual transmission fitted here was typical of the era and is part of what makes driving these old Saabs feel like piloting a little piece of history.
  • As for the condition, it sounds like a solid project car. Given that it has no rust and a smooth body (albeit with a "crappy paint job"), it could be a fine blank canvas for restoration. Rust-free examples are becoming increasingly rare, particularly in classic Saabs where corrosion resistance was not their strongest suit.
  • With its indoor storage since 2020, there’s potential to get this little classic back on the road without too much heartache. While the clutch slave cylinder issue is not uncommon for vehicles that have been sitting, it’s a straightforward fix for anyone familiar with older cars. Plus, who doesn’t love the challenge of bringing a piece of automotive history back to life?
