Description

Modified Lancer Evolution, right hand drive. Sat for several years after being a friends project car. Comes with two sets of tires and rims. Needs some minor work to get it back on the road, but mainly just brakes (they sat for a long time without moving so there is pad transfer), and a bulb. Had inspected recently and it needs: RF inner and outer tie rods, right rear lower control arm, left rear toe link, left rear axle seal, headlight, reverse lights, rear brakes, and wiper blades. Everything ...

Our Take:
  • The 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is a car that holds a very special place in rally history. This model is especially revered for its performance pedigree, having been designed with knowledge gleaned from Mitsubishi's World Rally Championship exploits. If you're into the thrill of rally racing, this car's heritage alone is enough to make it heart-racingly appealing.
  • One of the key features of the Evo VI is its 4G63 engine, a turbocharged inline-four that's like a symphonic crescendo every time you hit the gas. With all-wheel drive and a peppy manual transmission, it's like having a rally car that's just as happy tearing up gravel paths as it is cruising on paved roads. Think of it as the Swiss army knife of performance cars—fitting, given its versatility.
  • This particular unit being right-hand drive makes it quite the unicorn in North America. Enthusiasts often get a kick out of driving from the "wrong" side because it adds an extra layer of excitement—like trying to write with your non-dominant hand but getting better at it over time. Plus, seeing one of these at a car meet or show instantly turns heads, given its JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cred.
  • While it may need some TLC to get it fully road-ready, it’s a project that’s manageable for someone handy with a toolbox. The parts list you've got here isn't astronomical, and sourcing parts for an Evo is easier than finding a needle in a haystack, thanks to a dedicated fan base. Whether you see it as a challenge or a labor of love, this Evo could certainly become a cherished member of any automotive family.
