Our Take:
  • Rarity and Import Status: The 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is a gem from Japan, especially in the United States where it was never officially sold. This right-hand-drive (RHD) model only adds to its allure, attracting enthusiasts who appreciate JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) authenticity. The fact that it's imported makes it a bit of a unicorn on American roads.
  • Performance Heritage: The Evo VI was a beast back in its day, notoriously known for dominating rally stages. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine packed a punch, delivering a thrill that's still talked about in car enthusiast circles. With its manual transmission, you're looking at a driver's car that thrives on twisting roads and spirited drives.
  • Condition and Maintenance: At about 73,000 miles, this Evo VI isn't exactly fresh out of the box, but it's got plenty of life left. The seller mentions a bit of surface rust, but that's almost a given for a car that's lived its life in different climates. Parts from Japan suggest you've got a machine that's been cared for with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) pieces—something any Evo aficionado would appreciate.
  • Cultural Icon: The Evo series has made its mark not just on the streets but in pop culture, too. If you're into movies or video games like *Gran Turismo* or the *Fast & Furious* series, you'll recognize this car as an icon of '90s and early-2000s automotive lore. Having it in your garage is like owning a piece of that history—a conversation starter at any car meet.
