Description

Thinking of selling my 93 Mazda RX-7 R1. 81K miles. Motor rebuilt a few years ago by IRP, with only 4k miles since rebuild. All stock except reliability MODs (larger radiator, down pipe, FC coolant switch, all new vacuum hoses and solenoids, fuel lines, new clutch). Have over $10K in receipts. Clean Carfax. Our Take:
  • The **1993 Mazda RX-7** is quite the gem in the world of sports cars, mainly due to its iconic rotary engine. This specific model year belonged to the third generation, known as the FD series, which enthusiasts often admire for its lightweight and nimble handling. It's like driving on rails, and the design? Well, it's a timeless beauty that still turns heads today.
  • Now, you've got yourself an **R1 trim**, introduced especially for the performance purists. It comes with a sportier suspension, increased airflow and oil coolers, and other track-oriented features. This rare trim level is particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the car's racing pedigree.
  • This RX-7 comes with a **manual transmission**, which, let's face it, adds an extra layer of fun and engagement to the driving experience. With a motor rebuilt by IRP, known for quality rotary work, you've got less to worry about regarding the infamous rotary engine's maintenance challenges. It's like that perfectly aged wine — with just a little touch-up, it's ready to dazzle.
  • Enthusiasts will appreciate that this RX-7 has received **reliability modifications** such as a larger radiator and a new clutch, which address some common issues. However, keep in mind it needs new tires, brakes, and an AC expansion valve. These are minor when considering the overall condition and the thrill that awaits on those winding roads. It's like finding a vintage leather jacket that's just a stitch away from being pristine again.
