Description

Up for sale is my 1994 Suzuki alto works. I purchased this car back in July while in Japan. After purchasing the alto it needed to have part of the radiator support welded back together so that has all be fixed. (If you need photos or videos HMU) Since then I’ve done several modifications to make the alto even better. Just finishing a 35 roadtrip from NYC to ATL with no issues. The car is a rocket. It’s a FWD 5speed SOHC 660cc turbo kei car. The cars not perfect but it has character. $7000 (...

Our Take:
  • The 1994 Suzuki Alto Works is a quintessential kei car. These tiny wonders, native to Japan, pack a punch in a small package. The Alto Works is adored by enthusiasts for its surprisingly sporty performance, owing to the turbocharged 660cc engine. It's a nifty example of how Japan's automotive industry turned stringent regulations into a playground for innovation.
  • This car is as rare as hen's teeth in the U.S. Suzuki never officially imported the Alto Works stateside, making this an elusive find for American collectors. These cars rarely cross the ocean, and seeing one zipping through cities can turn heads—equally due to its unique design and rarity.
  • Manual transmission on a kei car? That's spirited driving. A 5-speed manual in a kei car like the Alto Works can make every drive feel like a rally stage. It's not just about speed; it's the engagement and connection with the road—a feeling that automatic transmissions often dull down.
  • Custom touches add personal flair without losing its original charm. The modifications, like the HKS cold air intake and those eye-catching Hello Kitty electronics, enhance its character while respecting its roots. It's a lively mix of aftermarket fun and JDM culture, a car that tells a story beyond just its mechanical specs.
