Our Take:
  • The 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo is a gem from the golden era of front-engine Porsches. Known internally as the "951," this car brought turbocharged excitement to the 944 lineup. With its well-crafted 50/50 weight distribution, it was a force to reckon with on twisty roads and still provides a spirited driving experience today.
  • With only 82,000 miles on the odometer, this 944 Turbo is relatively low mileage for its age. Mileage-wise, that's like finding a good old book with hardly any bent pages—it's still got plenty of thrilling chapters left to read. The low mileage adds a touch of allure for collectors who cherish the story behind every mile driven.
  • The rare pearl white over burgundy color combo is indeed a head-turner. Porsche offered an array of custom colors back in the '80s, making each car a potential one-of-a-kind masterpiece. It adds a sprinkle of uniqueness to this model, and the seller's note about its rarity in the U.S. market makes it even more enticing for those who appreciate automotive rarities.
  • The extensive list of maintenance work is a testament to the car's well-kept history. From the timing belt to the clutch, critical components have been serviced—an absolute boon for any potential buyer. However, don't let the small leak from the balance shaft seal and power steering rack deter you; these are relatively minor issues considering the car's age and are often part of the charm (or challenge) of owning a classic.
