Description

Selling my 1992 Corrado SLC VR6. This was my dream build that I spent 4 years and over 1000 hrs transforming into what I believed could be the best looking and very high performing VW Corrados around. These cars are getting very rare and well preserved/built ones are extremely rare. This one is particularly unique as it has the AWD drivetrain from a 2004 VW Golf R32 swapped into it. I also fully built the VR6 engine with forged internals and heavy duty valvetrain, and a Precision Turbo 5976 Tur...

Our Take:
  • Rarity and Heritage: The Volkswagen Corrado was a niche model even when new, produced from 1988 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the Scirocco, it's now considered almost a cult classic among VW enthusiasts. This particular 1992 version gets even more love due to the SLC trim with the legendary VR6 engine—a true piece of automotive history.
  • Engine and Performance Upgrades: The VR6 engine with its distinctive exhaust note has been beloved by enthusiasts for decades. This particular build, with forged internals and a hefty Precision Turbo, takes it to a whole new level, pushing over 300 horsepower. This isn't just a Corrado; it's a Corrado that speaks a more modern performance language with its standalone ECU and AWD swap from a Golf R32.
  • Custom Craftsmanship: The seller’s attention to detail is evident in the widened fenders, tastefully accommodating custom-built BBS wheels. The hammer and dolly method speaks to the artisan skill employed here, rather than opting for aftermarket body kits. It’s a conversation starter at any car meet—how often do you see a car with this much handcrafted love?
  • Cultural Significance: You mentioned taking this beauty to Wookies in the Woods—a pilgrimage for VW and Audi fans in the U.S. It's not just a car; it's part of a community and was even featured in a video by Deutsche Auto Parts, underscoring its uniqueness. The meticulous build and tasteful upgrades ensure it’s a timeless piece in VW history, bound to excite any true enthusiast.
