Description

Selling my 1996 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4. I have been the owner since 2016. Car is in great shape for its age. Could use paint job on the bumpers and sideskirts. Can negotiate a price to include RPF1 wheels and tires (pretty much new), otherwise will be sold with stock rims and tires. Mechanically, car is stock apart from blow off valve, custom piped exhaust, and air intake. Runs and drives great. More pictures to come. Looking for relatively quick sale, make me an offer. ...

Our Take:
  • The 1996 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV is a name that sparks a twinkle in the eye of rally enthusiasts; after all, it's from the heyday of Mitsubishi's dominance in the World Rally Championship. The Evo IV is particularly esteemed for introducing the Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, a technology ahead of its time, giving the car agile handling that still impresses drivers today.
  • Under the hood, you'll find the legendary 4G63 engine. This turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four was known for its high-revving thrills and reliability—like a reliable old friend that always gets you to the finish line. This Evo's powertrain is mostly stock, with a few touches like a blow-off valve, custom exhaust, and air intake, which purists will appreciate for maintaining its original character.
  • While this Evo IV has seen some miles (145,000 kilometers to be exact), its manual transmission offers a deeply engaging driving experience rarely found in today's automatic-heavy landscape. And with the option to add those sharp RPF1 wheels, it’s like giving the car a fresh pair of sneakers—just right for those spirited drives.
  • As a JDM classic, the Evo IV carries a certain mystique due to its initial exclusivity to the Japanese market until '96. This rarity amplifies its desirability among collectors and rally car aficionados. Keep an eye out for those additional pictures; they can be worth more than words when it comes to showcasing the Evo's iconic lines and potential for paint restoration.
