Description

I’m selling my 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV with import documents from Japan to the UK, UK to Germany, then to the US. I’ve owned it for a 1 1/2 years and have loved it ever since I’ve owned it. I’ve driven 4,000 km and was in the garage during winter. It only has 134,000 km (84ish,000 miles) however it will clime some until I have a serious buyer. Below are things that I have done or has been done to it. Our Take:
  • Rarity and Historical Significance: The 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV is part of a legendary lineage that helped build Mitsubishi's rally-winning reputation. It was never officially sold in the US, making it a rare find on American roads, especially in such a well-documented condition with its clear import history from Japan to Europe and then to the US.
  • Technical Highlights: An all-wheel-drive beast equipped with the potent 4G63 engine, the Evo IV marked a shift in technology with the introduction of the Active Yaw Control (AYC) system. This feature alone set the Evo apart from many of its contemporaries by enhancing handling and stability during spirited drives—something that true driving enthusiasts appreciate.
  • Modifications and Upgrades: The current modifications, like the turbo back exhaust and Turbo smart BOV, suggest it's ready for both track days and weekend drives. While some purists might prefer a stock setup for collector value, these tweaks are often seen as desirable among performance junkies wanting to extract every ounce of power and sound from their rides.
  • Owner's Care and Maintenance: With regular updates like new EBC pads, rotors, and recent work on the front calipers, this Evo IV appears well-maintained. The attention to parts like the belt tensioner and harmonic balancer indicates a commitment to keeping this rally-derived machine running smoothly. Plus, the garage storage during winter hints at an owner who understands and values preservation.
