Spent $4k at Aristocrat 9 months ago on maintenance and upgradescan provide receipts. Tinted windows & Custom exhaust- Ascetically the car does have a couple small rust spots and dings but mechanically it runs and drives great. This was our son’s first car. We are upgrading to a newer Mercedes. Clean and clear title. Just updated the pics. $7000 Shawnee,...

Our Take:
  • Performance Pedigree: The 2001 Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG was part of the W210 generation, which was a bit of an unsung hero in its day. Packing a hand-built 5.4L V8 that pushed out around 349 horsepower, this model was born to give its German peers a run for their money. It's a proper wolf in sheep's clothing—fast enough to tingle your spine, yet subtle enough not to alarm the neighbors.
  • Rarity with a Twist: The "designo" interior package is a rare bird indeed, especially with the merlot two-tone seats. These custom touches made the E 55 AMG not just about raw power but also about luxury and exclusivity. You won't find too many of these lounging around at your local car meet; they're unique like that.
  • Durability Factor: This car's been through 180,000 miles, and yet it’s still kicking strong—speaks volumes, doesn’t it? The W210 series was often criticized for rust issues, as hinted by the seller, but its mechanical reliability is typically Mercedes-solid. A $4k investment in maintenance and upgrades just nine months ago shows someone's taken good care of its beating heart.
  • Cultural Footprint: The E 55 AMG of this era was among the last Mercs before the styling cues took a turn toward a more modern flair in the early 2000s. Its design captures a transitional period in Mercedes' history, echoing a time when performance and understated elegance walked hand in hand. Those in the know will appreciate the historical significance—and the sound of that custom exhaust, no doubt.
