Description

Selling my dream car ever since I was a mercedes tech when this came out. I have owned it for about 2 years and unfortunately have only driven it a handful of times. I keep it parked in the garage or inside my shop under a cover most of the year. Car runs great with no issues. It is a 24 year old car so she is not perfect. The body is straight but has some dents and dings nothing major. I have had my PDR get out as much as he could. The issues are it has only one key for which starts the car but...

Our Take:
  • Unique AMG Heritage: The 2001 Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG was crafted during a time when AMG vehicles were built with an extra dose of character—something akin to a master chef adding a pinch of secret spice. This car isn't just any E-Class; it wears the coveted AMG badge, boasting a hand-built 5.4-liter V8 engine that delivered an impressive 349 horsepower back in the day. Imagine that kind of power wrapped in a classic, understated sedan body.
  • W210 Chassis Charm: This model falls under the W210 series, often considered the last of the 'real Mercs' before electronics began to dominate the automotive landscape. The E 55 AMG was one of those cars that people would remember for its raw, mechanical charm, and it's got that wonderful analog feel that's rare in today's tech-laden vehicles.
  • Rare and Cult Favorite: Far from being a common sight at your local Cars and Coffee event, the E 55 AMG is something of a unicorn among car enthusiasts. With only about 12,000 units ever produced globally, finding one in decent shape is a true testament to the owner's dedication, especially after over 200,000 miles.
  • Classic Features and Quirks: While the cracked original windshield presents a challenge, it also tells a story of authenticity—like finding an art piece with its original frame intact. And the infamous sagging headliner? A known quirk of the W210 family, it’s part of that endearing '90s charm. Plus, who doesn't love a car that's been kept under wraps (literally) in a garage for most of its life?
