Description

All original, very rare Celica Supra. Everything works/ operates as it should. Barn find. One owner before me, spent the last 10+ years in storage. Seats and carpet could use attention but door cards, headliner and dash is perfect. Small bits of superficial rust in places but NO ROT! For the most part the car is a 8/10 mechanically and because of the original paint I would say 7/10. Usually wear for a 45 year old original but was always stored and well taken care of. Last chance here on market ...

Our Take:
  • Rarity and Significance: The 1979 Toyota Celica Supra is a gem from the early days of Toyota's foray into the grand tourer market, marking the genesis of the Supra lineage. It's not just a car; it’s a piece of history that set the foundation for the legendary Supras of the '80s and '90s. Finding one in such original condition is like discovering a hidden artifact—something collectors drool over.
  • Mechanical Integrity and Authenticity: With its manual transmission, this Celica Supra offers an authentic driving experience that's becoming increasingly rare. The fact that it’s 'all original' suggests it has all the factory parts, which is a big deal for purists out there. Anything that’s survived with its original paint and without major modifications is quite a find in the world of vintage cars.
  • Condition and Preservation: Considering it was a barn find and has spent over a decade in storage, the minimal rust and 8/10 mechanical rating speak volumes about its preservation. The car’s current condition is a testament to the care it received over the years—the kind of responsible ownership that’s crucial for cars of this era.
  • Collector's Potential: With only 27,000 miles clocked, it’s like it was frozen in time—a true unicorn. These early Supras, especially with low mileage, are starting to appreciate in value as enthusiasts recognize their historical significance. Just imagine, this car could roll right into a classic car show and still turn heads or stir up a bidding war at an auction house out West.
