Description

Reluctantly I'm looking at selling my 1959 Fiat 600. Has the 633cc inline 4-cylinder, liquid cooled engine. This car has been gone thru. MUST RUN LEAD ADDITIVE! New fuel and brake lines. New brakes, New custom built billet rear brake drums, new fuel tank, wiring has been fixed and repaired where needed, this is a rare and very cool little car. The engine was rebuilt with maybe 100hrs on it. Used NOS parts for the rebuild. Floor pans have been repaired and New interior carpet and sound deadening ...

Our Take:
  • The 1959 Fiat 600 was more than just a car; it was a symbol of post-war optimism in Europe. It introduced millions to car ownership, with its compact design fitting perfectly into urban landscapes—a bit like a modern city-slicker. Its tiny 633cc engine may sound modest today, but back then it was revolutionary, allowing the little car to scoot through tight streets with ease.
  • With 123,456 miles on the clock, this particular Fiat 600 has surely lived quite the adventurous life. Yet, given the engine's recent rebuild with new old stock (NOS) parts, it's ready for more. You know what they say: these engines keep ticking as long as you keep them lubricated—just remember, lead additive is a must!
  • The need for a top speed less than 55mph means you won’t be winning any drag races, but this car's charm lies in its vintage agility and unique driving experience. It’s a bit like driving a piece of history, with every shift of its manual gearbox connecting you to the era of its origin.
  • In today's market, finding a Fiat 600 that's been "gone thru" and well-maintained with new custom-built billet rear brake drums is almost as rare as finding a 1959 magazine in mint condition. Those new carpets and sound deadening make it a cozy ride, reminiscent of the warmth and simplicity of another time. And remember, this is one of those gems better trailered for long hauls—it's a car that enjoys scenic routes over highway hustles.
