Description

Putting my 2000 toyota crown up for sale. I have been the only owner of this vehicle since imported to Canada. 2.5L 1jz I6 Engine with a 4 speed auto transmission(actually really fun) Rwd Only ever driven on premium fuel. Never winter driven. New all season tires. Don't drive it at all anymore between having a work truck and a recently purchased merc, only driven for 2 weeks this year. Needs a new home that will enjoy it. No accidents car is in great shape, only thing wrong with it is a slight ...

Our Take:
  • A Rare Gem Outside Japan: The Toyota Crown Athlete Estate, known mostly in its home market, is a bit of a unicorn in places like Canada. This 2000 model comes with a 2.5L 1JZ inline-six engine—an engine beloved by many for its smooth performance and potential for modifications, shared with the iconic Toyota Supra. Seeing such a model outside of Japan, especially in an estate form, is like spotting a yeti on the slopes; it's intriguing and rare.
  • Untouched Elegance: This car has only had one owner since its importation, which speaks volumes about its maintenance history. Japanese imports are known for their reliability, and given that this one allegedly hasn't been winter-driven, it's likely avoided the wrath of salt and snow that many Canadian cars endure. It's almost as if it's been preserved in a time capsule of automotive excellence.
  • Performance with Practicality: While it's an estate—which you'd usually associate with family road trips and cargo—the rear-wheel-drive configuration partnered with that revered 1JZ engine gives it a performance edge that many enthusiasts crave. It's like having a domestic cat with the spirit of a jungle predator; compact yet fiercely capable.
  • A Canvas for Customization: With only minor issues like a clicking CV and some paint imperfections, this Crown Athlete represents both a piece of history and a potential project car. For those who appreciate the art of restoration or modification, it's a blank canvas waiting for a creative touch. The history speaks for itself, but the future with the right owner could be even more exhilarating.
