Description
This is a car billionaires drove in the 2008 financial crisis, when they didn't want anyone to know how rich they really were. Basically a Bently Flying Spur with a VW badge slapped on it. Sticker price was typically more than $75k, and nobody bought them. Now you can own it after depreciation brought it to attainable levels.
Basically the nicest car you will ever find under $10k. Competitive with a Mercedes S class at the time, it had every feature VW knew how to throw at it. Heated, coole...

Basically the nicest car you will ever find under $10k. Competitive with a Mercedes S class at the time, it had every feature VW knew how to throw at it. Heated, cooled, and massaging seats (all four of them!). Soft-close doors. A "draftless" HVAC system. Eucalyptus wood interior. Adjustable height air suspension, with adjustable dampers.
This particular Phaeton has the 330 hp 4.2 V8 (audi engine, easier to service than the W12). It's equipped with the "comfort/Cold Weather package", and the "tech package" (power trunk and park sensors). Color is "Nocturne Aubergine" (basically eggplant purple/brown).
There are naturally a couple of known flaws that range in severity between "this portion of caviar is too large" and "the government impounded my least-favorite yacht". The power side mirrors no longer fold in on their own (the adjustment still works, they just don't fold). There are a few flaws in the paint that are too minor to show in photos but I'll be glad to point them out. The transmission selector seems a little loose (works perfectly). The "proximity key" doesn't work, although the key fob does, and you need to get the key out of your pocket to drive it anyway. The passenger-side front headlight washer took a rock and broke a piece off of the cover.
Clean title in my name. All maintenance that I could think of was performed, including timing belt and water pump (done around 60k miles). Matching tires have good tread and new TPMS sensors, including the one in the trunk. No check engine lights, no smoke, no leaks, no rust. I have a lift in my garage we can put it on so you can look underneath if you like. Has ceramic window tint all around (35%) including the windshield (80%), which keeps it nice and cool in the summer. It is ready to drive across the US. $9000 OBO, until I put it on bring-a-trailer where they regularly bring $10k and up. Trying to sell locally first. This will make a really neat car for someone who appreciates fine things.
