Description

I have a 1994 S600 it can be either a rolling project or if someone wants to do a V12 swap to another car. The car runs great but needs both interior and exterior cosmetic work. The engine is very smooth and is almost silent when one. The car has 104 thousand miles. It’s a very rare V12 4 seater w140. I was planning on restoring it but I’m going out of the country soon and have to many projects. I’ll post a walk around video of it starting and driving and going over all the issues. I’m pret...

Our Take:
  • Under the Hood: The 1994 Mercedes-Benz S600 is powered by the legendary M120 6.0-liter V12 engine. This beast was a technological marvel of its time, producing around 389 horsepower and delivering power with a nearly imperceptible smoothness. It's like having a symphony orchestra under the hood—refined yet powerful.
  • Rare Four-Seater Configuration: The seller mentioned it's a "very rare spec," which likely refers to the four-seat interior layout. While the standard W140 S-Class is known for its spacious five-seater configuration, a four-seater offers an extra touch of luxury and exclusivity with rear-center console amenities. Not many opted for this layout, making it quite the gem for collectors.
  • A Sturdy Legend: The W140 generation is lovingly known as the "last of the over-engineered Mercedes." Designed to be a fortress on wheels, the S600 boasts build quality and features that set new industry standards at the time, like double-paned windows and self-closing doors. Driving one feels like commanding a landbound cruiser from the golden era of German engineering.
  • Perfect for Tinkerers or V12 Enthusiasts: The mention of this being a "rolling project" or a potential donor for a V12 swap suggests a unique opportunity for those who like to get their hands dirty. With some TLC, it could be restored to its former glory or provide its brawny heart to another lucky car. Whether you're into restorations or custom builds, the possibilities are endless—and that's part of the fun, isn't it?
