Description

Up for sale is one of my many projects. 1987 Alfa Milano with only 55,xxx miles on the 6 digit odometer (055,xxx) The car was parked in the early 2000’s. Engine ran when parked. It turns over by hand. Included in the sale is an additional Busa V6 engine out of a healthy low mile Milano too. The chassis is really clean other than a spot of rust on the right rear dogleg. Interior is gorgeous and shows mileage. Alcantara seats that are soft and crack free, crack free dash and steering wheel also. ...

Our Take:
  • Rarity and Appeal: The 1987 Alfa Romeo Milano, known as the Alfa 75 in Europe, is a bit of an automotive oddball in the best possible way. With only 55,000 miles on the clock, this example is relatively rare, especially when considering that many have succumbed to rust over the years. Given that it was one of the last Alfas designed before Fiat's acquisition, enthusiasts often view it as a purist's Alfa. It can be a conversation starter at any car meet or gathering.
  • Technical Quirks: This Milano embodies Italian engineering bravado, boasting a unique transaxle layout that enhances weight distribution. Add to that the inboard rear brakes, which help reduce unsprung weight, and you see why Alfa aficionados adore its handling dynamics. It's not your everyday sedan—it's a textbook case of how Italians blend function with flair, even if it sometimes means a bit of a temperamental character.
  • Engine Charm: The Busso V6 engine included in the sale is a legend in its own right, often praised for its distinctive growl and responsive performance. There's a genuine treat awaiting fans of classic motoring in that wonderful symphony of the V6, which is both engaging and charismatic—something sorely missing in many of today’s muted powerplants.
  • Interior Elegance: This Milano's interior, featuring Alcantara seats, presents a remarkable time capsule—free from cracks, which is a rarity given the era's materials. It's a glimpse into late 80s' Italian luxury design, with a crack-free dash and steering wheel that defy the typical aging issues. Driving this car isn't just about moving from A to B—it's about savoring the tactile feel of a bygone automotive era.
