Rare European import Audi 80 Coupe Quattro 2.8l V6. This head-turner has been lovingly maintained by its owner. Quattro script interior. Straight from the heart of Audi's heritage in DTM and WRC Rally racing.
The development of Quattro all wheel drive is still fresh in the minds of many upon release of the evolved B3 generation of the 80/90 platform. By now, Audi had plenty of time to round off their boxy corners and revised the wedge-shaped B2 design. Housing uniqueness, all-weather capabilities, unmatched luxury, and limited production all in one "sub" compact package. The original owner had the car under his care for 22 years in Bremen, Germany. Finished in Crystal Silver Metallic (LY7T) over a dark gray Jacquard fabric interior. Also features the updated Euro front and rear bumper covers with a B4 style hood and grille to match.
The lift-back design of the B3 was another significant advancement that paired more than nicely with the new, smoother body lines. This car boasts the Manufacturers original literature, 28 years of German service records, 3 years of stateside service records and all the import documentation to tell its true story. The car has had its "brightwork" or chroming removed in favor of satin black, another attempt at preservation of all the finer details of this car as it now experiences the New England climates.
"Fraulein Lisa" as the car was dubbed by its German caregiver, purchased the vehicle with intention on tastefully modifying the vehicle to resemble characteristics of the Audi S2 that was never imported to the US. Using custom coilover suspension, a 5-bolt wheel hub conversion, Porsche Boxster S calipers and new 17" Cup1 wheels. The S2 steering wheel, sport seats, white-faced dash gauge cluster and carbon trim emphasize the beauty of the cars interior.
Engine code AAH, a 2.8L naturally aspirated V6 mated to Transmission code 016 -- a 5-Speed Manual. With a sticker price of $34,500 USD in 1993, the car was purchased from Schmidt & Koch Audi of Bremen, Germany. The car was purchased locally in June 2020 with the assistance of an importer located in Schoonebeek, Netherlands. Lisa was a daily driver in Germany for 9 years and a summer car thereafter -- two trips to the Nürburgring later. Water pump, timing belt, and new rear subframe bushings all done in Germany. Since being imported, the car has driven 9,416mi on US Soil. The body is fully galvanized (shell dipped) for rust prevention, which includes a 10 year corrosion perforation warranty. With ABS brakes and 2nd generation Quattro AWD, this car really isn't that far behind in the timeline.
The original 2.8L V6 had started reaching the end of its lifespan in mid 2021. It was then that the high-mileage block was replaced with a new zero-mile Audi AAH 2.8 engine sourced, serviced, and installed all right here in NH at EFI. The swap was completed in August of 2022, all of which can be outlined in vast detail upon inquiry or request.
In essence, there will likely always be a bit too much history pertaining to this car than we're able to make known in one listing. Come check it out! We would love to present all of the documentation and various other odds and ends that have been left with the vehicle out of respect and homage to the car itself as well its original owners.
