Description

Seeing if there's any interest for my slight modified E39 M5. Titanium silver. 178143km/110692miles. Leaving the country for awhile so decided to sell. EX-US car originally imported from Florida to Portland Oregon back in 2009. Never driven in winter in my ownership and always garage kept. Ceramic coated all around. Not collector grade by any means, but great driver's car that you can put miles on without feeling guilty with most of the major maintenance taken care of. Ex US car with Clean tit...

Our Take:
  • The E39 M5 is often hailed as the "best ever" M5, mostly due to its balanced chassis and nearly perfect blend of luxury and performance. This model was produced from 1998 to 2003 and was the last of the naturally aspirated M5s. If you're into that buttery smooth V8, this was the one to have—especially with the 6-speed manual, which adds an extra layer of driver engagement. In today's world of turbochargers, this naturally aspirated beauty is a bit of a unicorn.
  • Titanium Silver was one of the more understated color options for the E39 M5, allowing the car's design to speak for itself without too much flash. The fact that it's been ceramic coated suggests the owner was keen to keep that metallic shine as pristine as possible—a telltale sign of a caring owner. The aesthetic mods like the Euro headlight conversion also nod to the driver's penchant for a subtle but noticeable European flair.
  • While the car is not considered collector-grade, its extensive maintenance history is reassuring for potential buyers looking for a "driver's car." The cosmetic damages and subsequent OEM replacements indicate it's been well-cared for despite life's little accidents. Plus, the major mechanical work completed means you're unlikely to be facing the usual E39 M5 gremlins (like those pesky VANOS issues) anytime soon.
  • The modifications on this M5 are quite tasteful, aiming to enhance the driving experience rather than detract from it. The Dinan upgrades—such as the strut brace and cold air intake—add a bit of spice to the driving experience, enhancing both handling and throttle response. It's the kind of setup that might make you detour on your daily commute just for the joy of driving. Speaking of joyrides, those Michelin PS4S tires are among the best for spirited drives, offering great grip and longevity.
