Description

Classic Celica, this great little car has been my daily driver for he last 4 months. I have owned the car for about 4 years. Engine rebuilt by the previous owner (less than a 1000 miles ago.) Rust free other than the lift gate which has relatively widespread surface corrosion. The lift gate is however not perforated and is still sound / solid. It could be cleaned / treated and painted. Very drivable, original and unmodified car. 5 speed - great fun. The cons: Heater valve not working, gas gaug...

Our Take:
  • Rarity and Heritage: The 1983 Toyota Celica represents the third generation of this iconic model, renowned for its sporty yet practical design. While back then it was considered a common sight on the streets, today a well-preserved example like this one has become quite rare, especially in an unmodified state. Think of it as finding a vintage leather jacket that never went out of style — it carries that same timeless appeal.
  • Manual Transmission Enthusiast’s Joy: Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, this Celica promises a driving experience that's far more engaging than many modern automatics. It's the kind of car that makes you appreciate every shift — like savoring a finely brewed cup of coffee instead of those instant mixes.
  • Mechanical Simplicity with a Touch of Modernity: The switch from an engine-driven fan to an electric one hints at a subtle modern upgrade, which can improve reliability and efficiency. Plus, the rebuilt engine means it’s like getting new life in an old soul — relieving concerns about the high mileage.
  • Potential for Personalization: While the car has some cosmetic and functional issues, that's precisely where the beauty lies for many car enthusiasts. Fixing the heater valve, addressing the oil leak, or even tackling the lift gate rust can be a satisfying project. It's a bit like restoring an old record player; once you're done, it's not just any car — it's your car.
