Description

1970 IIa for restoration. Very complete, untouched. Off road since 1992. Needs frame. Bulkhead needs repairs. Body panels pretty straight. The only thing I can see missing is the wiper motor cover. Great foundation for restoration. I have never tried to start it. Will not separate parts. Sold with Bill of sale. NH does not require a title for this vehicle. 6500/bo I would like to keep the terrible front bumper. Southern NH. Not sure why it says Franklin. I will delete when sold. If it's u...

Our Take:
  • The 1970 Land Rover Series IIA is a classic example of British engineering, famous for its ruggedness and simplicity. This period was a time when Land Rovers were genuinely built to conquer unforgiving terrains while also being utilitarian in design. With a million miles on the odometer, this one’s seen more adventures than most.
  • Interestingly, most Series IIA models typically featured a manual transmission; an automatic setup is quite rare for these models. This adds an odd yet intriguing twist to its history. It might have had an aftermarket conversion, which would be a conversation starter at any classic car show.
  • Featuring timeless aluminum body panels, these trucks are known for their durability; they resist rust better than many of their contemporaries. Even though the bulkhead and frame need attention, the body panels staying relatively straight after years off-road is a testament to its robust construction.
  • This car is a piece of pre-defender Land Rover history, celebrated for their near indestructibility and charm. Often seen in iconic safari and military roles on film, a restored Series IIA could easily channel "The African Queen" or "Born Free" vibes. The beauty of a restoration project like this lies in the piece of heritage you’re bringing back to life.
