Description

This car has been a ton of fun and I love driving it around. I’ve had it as a Sunday driver and it’s been great. The car starts right up and the clutch is so smooth. It’s a beautiful car and I’m sad to let it go, but I’m wanting to get into a project car to try and fix up. It’s a 2.3L 10V 5 cylinder with a 5 speed manual! Hit me up with any questions. Asking $4750 OBO. See less...

Our Take:
  • Rarity of the Quattro System: The 1990 Audi 80 Quattro is part of a fascinating era where Audi was fine-tuning its Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Back in the early '90s, having Quattro on a model like the 80 was like a badge of honor for car enthusiasts, granting it superior traction and handling in various driving conditions. Even today, the mystique of the Quattro system persists among collectors and fans alike.
  • The Lovable Inline 5-Cylinder Engine: Audi's 2.3-liter inline 5-cylinder engine was known for its characterful sound and robust performance. It's akin to having a classic rock band playing under your hood—a bit different from the turbocharged engines common today. This engine configuration is almost a signature dish from Audi’s past that enthusiasts will appreciate for its mechanical symphony and durability.
  • Nostalgia with a Manual Transmission: The 5-speed manual transmission offers a driving experience that’s becoming increasingly rare. In a world dominated by automatics and CVTs, a stick shift in a car like this brings joy to purists who relish a more connected drive. It's like riding a bike without training wheels—refreshingly simple yet thoroughly engaging.
  • Third-Party Sentiment and Design: The Audi 80 was often overshadowed by its more acclaimed siblings, like the 100 or the later A4, but it holds its own with a design that has aged gracefully. Its clean lines and understated elegance—common traits of Audi’s design philosophy back then—make it a sleeper hit for those who appreciate subtlety over flash.
