Our Take:
  • The 1997 BMW 320i Touring is a rare bird, especially in North America. The Touring variant wasn't officially imported to the U.S., making a presence here quite the conversation starter. This specific model, with its Individual package and manual transmission, ticks a lot of boxes for BMW enthusiasts looking for something unique.
  • Painted in Individual Orient Blue Metallic, this car stands out in a crowd. The Individual program at BMW is all about customization, letting buyers select unique color and trim options. Having an Individual paint job lends this Touring an extra level of exclusivity and charm; it whispers "collector's item" to those in the know.
  • Under the hood lies the M52B20 engine, a solid performer from BMW's line-up in the '90s. This inline-6 engine is known for its smoothness and reliability—an engineering feat that left many a driver with a smile on twisty backroads. It might not win drag races, but it wins hearts with its characterful growl and eager response.
  • The practicality of a Touring model with the joy of a manual transmission offers the best of both worlds. For those who appreciate the art of driving (even with a grocery list in hand), this wagon provides utility without sacrificing the joy of shifting gears. And let’s face it—having your cake and eating it too is always a tempting proposition.
