Our Take:
  • Rarity and Legacy: The 1993 Nissan Cedric Y32 may not be a household name in North America, but it's a fascinating piece of automotive history. While it was primarily marketed in Japan, its presence here signals a growing interest in JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars that've been trickling into the U.S. since they became eligible under the 25-year import rule. For those who appreciate the more obscure side of Nissan, the Cedric offers a glimpse into the past with its classic 90s design and features.
  • Engine and Performance: This Cedric is equipped with the VG20 2.0-liter V6, a powerplant more commonly associated with some of Nissan's other models from the era. While it might not deliver blistering performance, its smooth running and reliability have made it a solid choice for daily driving, as reflected in the owner's use. The updated components like a new valve cover gasket and sealed intake manifold ensure it's running well despite its age.
  • Intriguing Features: The rear window antennas, along with the dummy trunk antennas, reflect the quirky charm that JDM cars often exhibit. These relics of a bygone technological era add an amusing conversation starter for anyone curious about vintage automotive gadgetry. Plus, the retained taxi equipment might make enthusiasts chuckle with a nod to its city-roaming past.
  • Personal Touches and Upgrades: The seller’s additions, such as LED lighting and a custom straight pipe, give this Cedric a modern touch while enhancing its unique character. The inclusion of Hertz 6x9 speakers hints at an improved audio experience, making drives more enjoyable whether you're in the city or cruising down the highway. The winter wheels thrown in as part of the deal suggest a well-thought-out package for all-season usability.
