Description

1991 Silvia Qs 256k km ~160k miles SR20DE Factory Manual Slick top Clean NY title I owned this car for about 2 years. I’m the first US owner. The car was mechanically sound when I got it, but needed a decent amount of cosmetic work. The plan was to eventually make it a drift car, so a lot of work was put into making the chassis into a nice foundation for that. Everything under the car was pulled, and certain areas were sandblasted, (The car was very clean, just surface rust from under the trunk...

Our Take:
  • The Silvia Qs of 1991, a gem in the Nissan family, sports the SR20DE engine—a naturally aspirated powerhouse known for its reliability and rev-happy nature. Unlike its turbocharged older sibling, the Silvia K's, the Qs offers a purer driving experience; the sort of thing purists might argue takes them back to the essence of driving.
  • This particular Silvia has undergone significant restoration and modification, transforming it into a drift-ready machine. With parts from reputable brands like HKS, Origin Lab, and Gktech, it's a carefully curated blend of performance upgrades and aesthetic enhancements. The work on undercoating and upgrading the suspension elements like poly bushings implies it’s been prepped for more than just looking good—it's ready to perform on the track.
  • The manual transmission and slick top configuration add a layer of desirability among enthusiasts, especially those looking for a pure driving experience without the distraction of sunroofs or automatics. The combination of these features with a clean New York title and the fact it's the first US-owned model gives it a uniqueness on American soil; something collectors might keep an eye on.
  • The modifications list reads like a dream for any drift enthusiast. While it may not win any concours d'elegance with single-stage paint and a cracked hood clear coat, it's not built for such purposes. Instead, imagine slicing through corners, the welded diff ensuring every ounce of that SR20DE power is delivered effectively, all while you grip the classic Nardi steering wheel. It's a project car with all the tedious groundwork laid out, just waiting for someone to take it to the next level of fun.
