Mercedes-Benz introduced the 190E Evolution as a limited-production homologation variant for the 1989 model year. Just 502 examples were built, with each featuring revised front and rear valances, a larger rear wing, and pronounced fender flares. All were painted Blue-Black Metallic (199U) from the factor This is 1 of the 502 cars ever made. Imported to Japan from new the car is in excellent condition and has 97k Kilometers which translates to just over 60k miles. The car is completely stock other than a catback exhaust for a slightly louder exhaust note. The car was also converted to R134 modern air conditioning which works great. This low mile example was very well preserved and maintained as with most of our Japanese imports. The car is finished in Blue-Black Metallic over Anthracite leather and power is from a 2.5-liter Cosworth inline-four paired with a dogleg five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes revised aerodynamics, a limited-slip differential, 16” wheels, and sport seats. Factory 16″ alloy wheels are mounted with 225/45 Bridgestone tires. The Evolution was lowered by 19mm compared to the standard 2.5-16, and its track width was increased by 14mm in front and 24mm at the rear. The adjustable self-leveling suspension works flawlessly and was recently serviced and fluid flushed. The 2.5-liter DOHC inline-four was developed by Cosworth with a shorter stroke and larger bore than its counterpart in the standard 2.5-16 model, and factory-rated output was 202 horsepower. The Getrag five-speed manual transmission features a dogleg first gear and routes power through a limited-slip differential.
