For sale is a beautiful piece of American history with ties to Boston and rock and roll history in New England. These were the king of the road in their day, and are true head-turners now. Everybody stares when the pink Cadillac limo goes by!
History: This limousine was purchased by BD Electric Co. of Concord NH in 1960, to shuttle clients/executives to and from Logan Airport. It then went to Peter Fuller Cadillac in Boston, and eventually found its way into storage in NH, before the current owner's friend told him of the car, leading to its purchase in 1975. The current owner ran a very successful PA/concert and event sound company in New England, and the car was used to go to events, tour through the White Mountains, and go to local car shows. In 2008, the car was last registered, and has been in storage ever since. The current location of the vehicle is a carriage barn, where the car has been kept dry and weather-free, under cover.
In preparation for sale, the car has been brought to running condition, running off of an external fuel tank so as not to introduce any of the contimated fuel that may be in the system from sitting. Vehicle moves under its own power, but it has stuck brakes, so it moves with resistance and has no pedal feel. The next owner can solve this when they service the vehicle to make it road-worthy. A new battery had been installed and the vehicle starts and runs smoothly.
Body/Paint: The vehicle has been repainted from its original limo black to the pink seen in the photos. The paint could be brought back to life with some polishing and perhaps a new clear coat, but is very honest now, with clean, straight body lines that do not indicate filler, rust, or bubbling. The brightwork has some pitting, especially in the bumpers, but it is minor in severity. All of the trim is complete and on the car.
Undercarriage: There is corrosion evident on the underside of the car, but the frame is solid and shows no rot. The body mount bushings show signs of dry rot as is typical of a car this age.
Interior: Interior is in very good shape, carpet has been replaced before, but interior is clean, with just a few spots in the headliner. Rear has privacy sliding glass, jumpseats, etc. Everything needed in a limosine!
The car is being sold to fund the restoration efforts of the property where it is currently stored, a NH-state registered federal house.
