Our Take:
  • A Marvel of British Design: The 1970 Jaguar E-Type, also known as the XKE, is often hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Enzo Ferrari himself declared it to be the most beautiful car in the world. The model's sleek lines and performance-oriented design have made it an icon among sports cars, and it played a significant role in shaping Jaguar's reputation for stylish yet speedy vehicles.
  • Uncommon Heartbeat: This particular E-Type has undergone a significant transformation with the installation of a 5.7-liter V8. While the original inline-six and V12 engines are famous in their own right, this upgrade offers a unique blend of classic British charm and modern American muscle. It's a bit like teaching an old cat new tricks—unusual but undeniably intriguing.
  • High-Caliber Restoration: A 'nut and bolt' restoration is no small feat and indicates that every component of the car has been meticulously restored or replaced. With work performed by a retired air force engineer, you know that precision and attention to detail were paramount. Restorations of this caliber can often cost a small fortune, so this car's condition is likely pristine.
  • Rarity and Elegance: This E-Type is a two-seater coupe—less common than the more frequently seen roadster. Coupled with its immaculate condition and rare aluminum wheels from England, it stands out even in a crowd of classic cars. Having been delivered new to California and remaining rust-free adds a cherry on top for collectors who value originality and history.
