Our Take:
  • American Mid-Engine Rarity: The Guanci SJJ is a true unicorn in the automotive world. With only three prototypes ever built, owning this car is like having a piece of unfulfilled dreams from the American auto industry. Imagine cruising down the highway in something so unique; it's bound to turn heads at any car meet.
  • Chassis and Pedigree: The monocoque chassis, engineered by Bob McKee, hints at a rich heritage of racing excellence. McKee's work with Howmet Turbine and his own racing endeavors adds a pedigree that any car enthusiast would appreciate. It's like strapping in for a race with the spirits of automotive engineering past cheering you on.
  • Transatlantic Design Collaborations: The body design boasts the expertise of Chrysler's Mike Williams, with inputs from DeTomaso and Vector—quite the international affair! It's a blend of American ambition infused with a hint of European flair, like a perfect automotive cocktail.
  • Engine Evolution: Originally equipped with a Buick V6, its evolution to an Oldsmobile Aurora 4-cam V8 in the '90s makes this car a rolling showcase of adaptable engineering. It's like watching a classic movie with a modern twist—lovable and familiar, yet intriguingly fresh.
