Description

Looking to possible sell my V6 manual transmission Mercury coupe. Only made the V6 for just over two years, and not many were Manual transmissions. Do you every see any anymore? Especially with NO RUST or leaks. This car is great on fuel, unique, reliable, fun to drive, serviced regularly, and has been garage kept. Only selling because I have other vehicles in my collection that need attention. I would like this car to go to someone who will appreciate it. When was the last time you saw one...

Our Take:
  • Rarity Factor: The 1993 Mercury Topaz GS with a V6 engine and manual transmission is a bit of a unicorn in today's automotive landscape. Mercury only offered the V6 for a brief period, making manual versions particularly uncommon. This rarity adds a unique charm for collectors seeking something out of the ordinary.
  • Historical Context: The Mercury Topaz, essentially a sibling to the Ford Tempo, was part of the compact car segment in the early '90s. It represented a time when American automakers were experimenting with fuel efficiency and innovative designs—though it's not as iconic as some models, it showcases the era's practical engineering.
  • Condition and Maintenance: According to the seller, this Topaz has been garage kept and boasts no rust or leaks, which is quite remarkable for a car that's three decades old. Regular maintenance and the fact that it’s insured under classic car insurance suggest it’s been well cared for—details that should delight any potential collector.
  • Cultural Nostalgia: Owning a Topaz like this might be a trip down memory lane for some or an adventurous start for others. Although it wasn't the poster child of the '90s automotive era, it embodies the quirky charm that was often overshadowed by more prominent models. And hey, when was the last time you saw one zipping around town, let alone in such fine shape?
