Only 2,782 Rapides were ever produced with approximately 300 imported to the US over the course of its production. A true rare bird that turns heads with its looks and V12 growl. Note, all digital displays work, but the refresh rate is close to my camera’s so they look like they are not functioning in the pics/video. Car has been well maintained (always at the Aston dealership in Downers Grove, IL where it was purchased new from – they have the service provenance outside of what I have hard copies of), garage kept, and driven regularly (which is important for Astons). No accidents and never driven super hard. Selling because I was laid off from my job and the first thing to go has to be the most luxurious unfortunately… otherwise I would have kept this car for life. Car can get up to 195mph and I have kept up with V12 Vantages (coupe with same engine and platform) from similar years off the line and from rolling starts… it is truly a 4 door V12 torque-monster supercar that will spin the wheels in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears (6 speed automatic with paddles for manual shifts). Easily beats Porche Panamera’s, including the top-end ones. “Gentleman’s exhaust” that grumbles softly at low rpm and lets the V12 growl come screaming through at rpm’s above 3,500. Aluminum chassis & rims, and carbon fiber hood and roof to keep weight down. • In perfect working order all the way around with no waring/service lights. Going 100mph feels like going 60mph in other cars. I’ve not gotten it up to its top speed, but at 160mph the rpms are only just around 4,000 and there is no drift or ‘squirrellyness’ at all. Even as a 4 door saloon, this car outhandles top end sportscars I have driven. • Has a sport mode and a track mode that can be turned on & off at anytime (when driven in normal mode, gas mileage is actually decent for a V12, similar to normal V8) • Active suspension that balances car around curves at speed • Paint, wheels, brakes in great condition – plenty of life left on brakes and both sets of tires • Entire front end and rear quarter panel bulges are wrapped in clear protective vinyl to prevent pebble/road debris damage to the paint • Gorgeous butterscotch leather interior (leather well taken care of and conditioned frequently) with stitching and seatbelts that match the exterior paint color. Luxurious matching suede headliner and pilar posts. • 1000W sound system (surround with crystal clarity and booming bass) with Bluetooth – tweeters rise up out of the dash when the system is turned on and when the car is started (see video – upper left shows the tweeter rising out when • Navigation system with scree that flips up from dash – screen can be kept folded down when not using) • Rear seat entertainment with wireless headphones (1 pair for each rear seat that pair independently with each screen), including a 6 disc DVD play and aux inputs for videogames or other devices. The rear seat entertainment system can be sent through the whole car’s stereo system as well. • 20 spoke wheels ($20,000 option when car was new) with 3+ years left on transferrable rims warranty • Rear seats fold down and luggage barrier folds down (see 3 pics with boot open – for example the luggage rack up and down and with the rear seats folded down), so this car can actually pack quite a bit into it, including longer items like skis The car has a couple minor flaws: the top coat finish on the wood on the dash center console has a couple cracks in it (I’d imagine a bit of clear epoxy with a syringe could fix this), there is very minor ding on the back passenger panel (could barely get a picture of it [see pics]), and there some almost invisible (from street level) scrape marks under the front bumper from parking up to curbs. As with any car, seeing it in person is recommended. • Must be 25 years old to test drive (it is a rear-wheel-drive torque-monster and it will easily “get away from” an inexperienced driver) • I must be in the car with you and be able to take a picture of your driver’s license and your auto insurance card • I live in Chicago, but given the road congestion and potholes that look like craters here, I will meet you outside of the city to test drive to avoid the hazards of Chicago driving. • If you prefer, I can do the driving to show its upper end performance since I know how to drive it very well. I will coordinate with you to meet up with a shipping company if you are going to ship it. The summer tires should fit inside the car, but I do not want to try because I don’t want to scuff the interior… If you are shipping it and want me to try, I will; however, it’s probably a good idea to check with your shipper if they can transport 2 of the tires outside of the car.
