Description

93 - 300zx convertible, non turbo clean title, original miles. My son bought this car with the intention of restoring it to original condition, he's already replaced the suspension, shocks, struts, tires, brakes and timing belt. He recently moved back to Las Vegas and didn't have a place to keep it there. He decided to let it go and find another one later when he's more able to work on one. This car is straight but will need some attention. It's had hail damage, and needs the rings done, it burn...

Our Take:
  • A Heritage of Design: The 1993 Nissan 300ZX, especially as a convertible, hails from the Z32 generation, a true testament to the golden era of Japanese sports cars. Known for its sleek design by Nissan's in-house team, the 300ZX won numerous awards, and it’s a model that automotive enthusiasts often associate with cutting-edge ’90s styling.
  • Engine and Performance: This particular model is the non-turbo variant, featuring the VG30DE engine. Although it doesn’t provide the turbocharged thrill, the naturally aspirated engine offers a smooth drive and is easier to maintain. It’s perfect for those who appreciate the simplicity and reliability of a classic sports car powertrain.
  • Rarity and Unique Features: The 300ZX convertible was produced in limited numbers, making it somewhat of a unicorn among the Z32s. In the early '90s, convertible sports cars weren’t as common, giving this model a unique open-top experience combined with Japanese precision engineering.
  • Potential and Restoration: With under 100,000 miles, this 300ZX has plenty of life left. Despite the cosmetic and mechanical issues like hail damage and the need for ring replacement, it provides an exciting project for someone looking to restore a piece of automotive history. The existing investments in new suspension and braking components are a solid foundation for further restoration efforts.
