Description

Unfinished Pro Street project. Age, health, (wife), and too many open projects force sale. I have a 1997 Jaguar XK8 that is back halved, triangulated 4 link, Moser fab housing, Moser axles with bearings and studs, new rear disc brakes, Strange rear coil overs, steel tubs and all tubing is round mild steel. All new Autometer gauges, Billet Specialties wheels, new Powerflex front suspension bushing, front Bilstein shocks and most if not all parts to install on the front suspension and many more ...

Our Take:
  • First Production Year: The 1997 Jaguar XK8 was the inaugural model year for the XK series, replacing the aging XJS. This marked the beginning of Jaguar’s venture into producing a new breed of luxury grand tourers, blending British elegance with modern performance.
  • Unusual Project Car: This XK8 isn’t your typical “weekend cruiser” but rather an unfinished Pro Street project. With its back-half chassis modification and reinforced suspension components, it’s a rare sight for a Jaguar—usually known for refinement over pure muscle car antics.
  • Jaguar Meets American Muscle: Interestingly, included in this project is an LS oil pan, hinting at a potential engine swap to a Chevrolet LS engine—a popular choice among gearheads for its compact design and power potential. Imagine a British gentleman wearing a cowboy hat; an unusual, yet intriguing combination!
  • Enthusiast’s Puzzle: The seller mentions over 70 parts purchased specifically for this build, making it a true puzzle for a dedicated enthusiast. It’s not just a car; it’s a labor of love where each piece is like solving a mystery of passion and precision engineering.
