Description

Hey guys selling my BMW 2800cs, it has always been a dream car of mine and I finally got one in a trade for a car I was selling, my wife ended up not being to happy about it so sadly at this time it has to go. The car is a project and in need of tlc, it currently runs and drives, just not fast but because the tires are 20 years old but enough to go through all the gears. Not sure on the history of the car much but what I do know is the person I got it from had replaced the carbs and when doing...

Our Take:
  • Exquisite design and heritage: The 1970 BMW 2800 CS is part of the E9 series, a cornerstone in BMW's legacy of luxury and performance. Its sleek lines and timeless design make it a favorite among classic car aficionados. Enthusiasts often admire its elegant coupe silhouette, a design ethos that can still be seen influencing BMW's current models.
  • Engine mystique: This particular 2800 CS sports a Korman-built motor, which adds a layer of intrigue and performance finesse. Korman Autoworks is a well-regarded name in the BMW tuning community, known for extracting remarkable power and reliability from BMW engines. The port and polished head suggest an attention to detail that enhances both performance and driving excitement.
  • Cultural significance: The BMW 2800 CS isn't just a car; it's a symbol from the era of the 'Neue Klasse,' which helped solidify BMW's reputation as a maker of sporty, luxury vehicles. This model's participation in 1970s racing also underlines its performance pedigree, making it a piece of automotive history on wheels.
  • Project potential: While this example needs some TLC, its status as a project car means it's ripe for restoration to its former glory. The included parts, such as the interior pieces and rockers, are valuable finds for someone eager to revive this classic. With its manual transmission and the potential for spirited driving once restored, it offers an authentic and immersive experience of driving a classic BMW.
