Our Take:
  • The 1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6 is a gem from the era when Italian automakers were crafting passionate, performance-oriented coupes. This model is particularly noted for its 2.5-liter V6 engine, designed to deliver a sonorous exhaust note that could make any drive an auditory delight. It's fascinating to think that this car could once have been a rival to the likes of the BMW E30—a true battle of Europe's best.
  • This GTV6 retains its original paint, which is a rarity for over 35 years of history. The seller mentions spot priming, echoing the common practice among enthusiasts to preserve originality where possible—think of it as patina with a purpose. The absence of bumpers suggests a nod to a racing aesthetic, perhaps inspired by Alfa's success in motorsport during that era.
  • The 164s wheels restoration adds an intriguing twist, borrowing a bit of flair from another Alfa model, the 164, which is known for its angular Pininfarina design. It's like dressing your classic Italian dish with a modern twist; purists might sniff, but it certainly adds character.
  • With the upgraded stereo system featuring Blaupunkt amplifiers and Pioneer speakers, this GTV6 caters to both audiophiles and driving purists. It's a mix of old-school charm and modern audio bliss, ensuring that your favorite tunes match the thrill of the drive. It's worth pondering if this setup might just make your morning commute feel like a back road blast, regardless of traffic.
