Description

Rare car, 780 Turbo Bertone Coupe, very low mileage, off the road since COVID, will start with a jump. Listing this for my sister. I drove this car to its present location about 8 months ago, the brakes were spongy, I would not try to drive this until it was looked at. The person who ends up buying this car MUST take the time to go to a PA Notary with us to do the paperwork for either the in state title transfer or the paperwork for an out of state sale, so the notary has to be open for business...

Our Take:
  • Unique Collaboration: The 1990 Volvo 780 Bertone represents a unique collaboration between Volvo and the Italian design house Bertone. This marriage of Swedish engineering and Italian style resulted in a limited production run with only about 8,518 units made from 1986 to 1991. For those who appreciate a touch of Italian flair in their Swedish metal, this coupe stands out in the crowd.
  • Turbocharged Performance: The Turbo badge isn't just for show. Under the hood, you'll find a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four engine. While not a speed demon by today's standards, it delivered a respectable power boost back in its day—perfect for spirited drives along winding roads at your local Sunday morning car meet.
  • Comfort Meets Craftsmanship: Inside, the 780 Bertone elevates Volvo's traditional comfort with high-quality materials and luxurious touches, including plush leather and tasteful wood accents. It's like the automotive equivalent of a cozy, well-furnished hygge retreat that begs you to take the long way home.
  • Rarity Status: With only 68,000 miles on the odometer and the hardships of the past few decades, finding a 780 Bertone in decent condition is somewhat of a treasure hunt. This particular car's low mileage is a blessing for collectors and enthusiasts looking for a piece of Volvo's elegant yet underappreciated history.
