Description

Tastefully modified Well maintained Enthusiast owned I will be more sad if it sells than if it doesn't. I'll glady keep on driving it. Only selling to try and save for my dream car Chassis has a few KMs (342xxx). But they're mostly all Highway. Original Alberta car. Exterior is clean for its age. Some dents and scratches from over the years as to be expected for an almost 40 year old car. Patina is cool. Parts list is in pics, too big to add here ...

Our Take:
  • The 1985 Toyota Cressida holds a special place in automotive history as Toyota’s bridge between the standard Corollas and the luxurious Lexuses. Perhaps you didn't know that the Cressida was essentially a Japanese domestic market executive car with luxury features, back when luxury meant plush interiors and a whisper-quiet ride. It's rare to find one with a manual transmission, as most were automatics, adding a touch of driving engagement to an already unique vehicle.
  • Under the hood, you'll find the tried-and-true 5M-GE engine—a robust inline-six that was noted for its smooth power delivery. Although this engine isn't a powerhouse by today's standards, it offers a faithful driving experience reminiscent of its era’s engineering excellence. It was, in essence, a nod to a time when engines were naturally aspirated and built with a focus on reliability.
  • The mileage at 342,420 km might seem daunting, but the owner claims most of these kilometers are highway-driven. Enthusiasts know that highway miles are generally kinder to a car's drivetrain compared to city miles. It's worth noting, too, that Alberta cars often avoid severe rust issues thanks to the drier climate, and this Cressida seems to have benefited from that with its "clean exterior" despite its age.
  • This particular Cressida has been described as "tastefully modified," a phrase that can mean a myriad of things to car lovers. While we’d need a closer look at the parts list to fully appreciate the modifications, such tweaks often aim to enhance performance and aesthetics without overpowering the car’s original charm. This indicates an owner who respects the Cressida's heritage while infusing a bit of personality—much like adding a subtle highlight to a classic black-and-white film.
