For sale, my precious little pillarless shovel nose, aka “Hotate.” True survivor out of the New Mexico desert. 50k original miles. 1.9L inline 4. Formerly an automatic, previous owner swapped in a 4 speed manual. Runs, drives and stops very well. All 90 horses are happy to roll straight and true down the 101 at 70mph. All panels straight, good paint, all bright work here and in good condition. All lights function, except for reverse. Zero rust on frame, all rails clean, trunk and spare tire compartment all clean. Very minor surface spots exist in door sills/hinges. Incredibly well preserved black vinyl interior, carpets in good shape. Headliner taut and free of rips holes or sags.
Lots of recent maintenance. Plugs and wires. New shocks all around. Extensive brake work including all new lines. Gone thru by my local Petaluma Toyota shop, Yotaluma. 15” vintage Enkei wheels, newer Kumho Ecsta’s (original 13” steel wheels/chrome hubcaps and tires included in sale).
She’s not perfect, but she’s very good. She shows well and has enjoyed a number of shows, meetups and the occasional ~100 mile Breakfast Club Rally, most recently their “Tokyo Calling” edition. At 56 years old, there is, of course, some ‘character,’ some charm. A few squeaks and rattles. Dash is cracked beneath the dash carpet. Missing driver side door card. Some very slight leaks. I’m happy to discuss openly with interested parties. Please don’t lowball me, please don’t waste our time. This is a rare opportunity to get a really well-sorted two door, early vintage Corona. Clean title in hand. Come have a look, she’ll make you smile. Drive and enjoy her as she is, or take her to a different level, engine swap anyone?
