Our Take:
  • The 1996 Audi S6 represents a peak era for Audi's performance engineering, especially with its Quattro all-wheel drive system. In the '90s, Audi was solidifying its position as a competitor to the BMW M and Mercedes AMG performance lineups. The S6, with its deeply rooted rally heritage, was a symbol of Audi's prowess on both road and track.
  • This particular S6 has a Canadian origin, making it a bit of an international traveler—Canada has its own unique climate challenges, so it's intriguing that this Audi found its way to Arizona, where it's enjoyed a rust-free existence. The lack of rust is an automotive blessing, especially for a car of this age. And with its original paint still intact, it offers a glimpse into the past, showing off Audi's robust build quality.
  • The engine build by Jeff Gerner is a noteworthy feature for any car enthusiast. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Gerner's engines are highly regarded in racing and performance circles. With 900hp capabilities, this engine transforms the S6 into a powerhouse that can leave many modern sports cars in its rearview mirror—yet it currently puts down a more "practical" 498 to the wheels. The upgrade to a JHM 6-speed transmission adds another layer of interest for those who appreciate finely tuned German engineering.
  • With 204,000 miles on the chassis, this S6 has clearly been driven and enjoyed—more than just a garage queen, it's a testament to the car's durability and engineering. These older Audi models are famously overbuilt, which means they can handle high mileage with grace. The chassis might have a long history, but the fresh engine is revving to write new chapters.
