Up for sale is my beloved 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 (Cosworth) with the coveted 5 speed manual.
This car is in excellent condition for its age. It runs, drives, and shifts perfectly, handles like a sports car, and stops on a dime. The paint is original and shines and is deep and glossy, with a few minor dings and scrapes as you'd expect from a 38 year old car. The interior leather is supple and has no tears, and the zebrano wood is not cracked. This car is completely original and has never been in an accident. There is no rust anywhere on this car.
I took excellent care of this car and spared no expense in restoring it to OEM+ condition. Throughout my ownership, I've done the following:
* Changed every fluid in the car
* Complete suspension rebuild (every single rubber bushing underneath the car has been replaced)
* New flex discs and transmission mount
* Refreshed the KE-Jetronic fuel injection system (new injectors, O-rings, potentiometer, O2 sensor, etc.)
* New catalytic converter (passed smog in March with flying colors)
* New AC compressor and R134a retrofit (AC is ice cold)
* Completely overhauled the braking system (new pads/rotors, new stainless steel brake lines, new parking brake hardware)
* Completely overhauled the rear SLS system (new accumulators, filter and fluid change)
* Valve adjustment
* New shifter bushings
* New rear seat leather (from GADD)
* New Hella European headlights (PPF'd to keep them looking new)
There's probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.
The car has a few tasteful modifications as well:
* H&R springs (will include original springs with sale)
* Stromung exhaust (sounds nice without being obnoxious, zero drone on the highway)
* Fire extinguisher mount under the passenger seat (safety first!)
I also have a bunch of extras that I'll include with the car (fitted car cover, Coco mats, original booklets, etc.)
The only faults I can think of are that the radio faceplate needs to be changed (never bothered because the stock speakers are awful anyway), and the blower motor sometimes chirps a bit. Otherwise, the sunroof, cruise control, A/C, heater, etc. all work.
Clean title in hand, no accidents, and as I mentioned, the car passed smog perfectly in March earlier this year.
I hate to list this car for sale, but I need to due to some personal circumstances. Serious offers only please, otherwise I'll just keep the car.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
