Our Take:
  • Last of its kind: The 2003 Lotus Esprit V8 Final Edition truly represents the end of an era. It marked the culmination of the Esprit line that had captured the imaginations of car enthusiasts since its debut in the '70s. With only around 100 Final Editions produced, this model is rare and beloved among collectors.
  • Performance pedigree: The Esprit V8 packs a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V8 engine, delivering around 350 horsepower. These cars were renowned for their lightning-quick acceleration and nimble handling, embodying Lotus's ethos of lightness and agility. With a manual transmission, it offers a driving experience that's both engaging and somewhat 'old school' by today's standards.
  • Unique feature set: This particular vehicle stands out with its Quaife 25g sequential transmission, a rare modification that enhances the driving dynamics. The fact that the original H pattern comes with it is a big plus for purists who appreciate factory originality. Its Elise/Exige style steering wheel adds a touch of modern flair, though having the original wheel on hand is a welcome nod to its heritage.
  • Collectibility factor: Well-documented service history and low mileage at 38,000 miles cement this Esprit's status as a sought-after collector's item. Enthusiasts know that detailed service records are like gold; they reveal a history of care and attention that ensures longevity. It's the kind of meticulous record-keeping that makes any car lover's heart skip a beat.
