Description

1983 Subaru GL10 for sale! This car has been my daily driver for the past 8+ years in all seasons, but my needs have changed and I have to unfortunately sell, but lucky you! I am the second owner of this great little car, 5 speed manual transmission, fwd, moon roof (that does fully detach to become sun roof), digital dash/clock/speedometer/tachometer, interior in great shape, good exterior (maybe great exterior considering it's age). All around taken care of and loved for it's entire life. Car ...

Our Take:
  • Rare and Retro: The 1983 Subaru GL10 is quite the rarity nowadays, serving as a notable example of Subaru's daring leap into tech-savvy vehicles for its time. Its digital dash was a futuristic touch back in the day—when such features seemed more suited to science fiction than your average car. How often do you stumble upon a vehicle from the early '80s with a digital speedometer?
  • Unique Design Features: This model boasts a moonroof that can detach to become a sunroof, a nifty feature that screams classic cool and gives you a different perspective on the road. Subaru was ahead of its time, offering mix-and-match features long before today's modular design concepts were popular. Imagine cruising down a winding road with that top open—wind in your hair, nostalgia in your heart.
  • Subaru's Boxer Engine Roots: While this model features Subaru's charming penchant for durability, it might not have the iconic Boxer engine, which became a brand hallmark. Nonetheless, it shares the Subaru DNA of reliability and quirkiness. It's like discovering that your seemingly ordinary neighbor was actually a local legend back in the day.
  • Perfect Vintage Project: Though not without its needs (a new battery and AC repair, for instance), this vehicle presents a fantastic opportunity for restoration enthusiasts. With some TLC, it could become a standout example of early '80s innovation and adventurous design. It's a bit like finding an old vinyl record—scratchy, but with a sound quality that tells a story. Plus, that manual transmission brings an added layer of engagement for those who love truly driving their car.
